Sustainability at melvo

At melvo, we have been engaged in the issue of sustainable development for many years. Being an internationally operating enterprise, we are aware of our responsibility towards the society and future generations. Climate protection, sustainability and the efficient utilisation of resources are integral parts of our corporate culture.

We have therefore committed ourselves to environmentally friendly and socially responsible management when developing our products and packaging materials.

We pursue the issue of sustainability in the long term and in an entrepreneurial manner, together with our employees, consumers and trading partners in all our activities along the supply chain.

As a sign of this, we have launched the Natura Series in 2010 – a product series based on vegetable ingredients. We are proud to say that melvo was the first enterprise that succeeded in producing waterproofing sprays completely free of PFOA and PFOS; instead of CFC, we use propane and butane that pose no danger to the ozone layer.

In addition, the folding cartons of melvo are made of 100% recycled paper and our spray caps of recycled plastics. There are no packaging materials made of PVC or seals containing phthalates. A water treatment plant, which filters the wastewater and ensures that no hazardous substances get into the water cycle, underlines the consciously sustainable utilisation of this valuable resource. Furthermore, in business processes we pay attention not to put a strain on the environment more than absolutely necessary and to use the natural resources in an efficient manner.

For these reasons, melvo is an enterprise with ECOfit certification. An independent committee has assessed aspects such as the reduction of energy, water and resource consumption or the amount of waste and wastewater generated during operation. With this certification, we have demonstrated that we are constantly improving our working methods and are able to use the natural resources even more efficiently.
